Felting Needles
Pack of Needle Felting Needles
Choose your gauge:
36 Triangle, 38 Star, 40 Twist, 42 Triangle
4 needles per pack
You will receive felting needles in your choice of quantity and gauge.
36 Triangle- Best for fast, dense felting.
The thicker gauge is ideal for base and structure work. To begin your project, I recommend using a single 36 needle to build up the general shapes of your 3D project. The single wooden needle holder is handy when using your 36T.
38 Star- Great for quickly building up the bulk of your sculpture.
This is a workhorse needle, perfect for shaping your sculpture quickly. My favorite gauge to use in multi-needle holders and pen tools!
40 Twist- A spiral-shaped felting needle for detailed work and finishing. Think felted eyes, noses, spots, and stripes. The spiral tip leaves fewer holes in your project, which makes it ideal for detailing work. To finish, I like to firm up the outer layer of my 3D sculptures using a multi-needle holder with 40 twist needles.
42 Triangle- Ideal for very fine detailed work. Suited for your projects that require tiny wisps of fiber, such as adding twinkles to eyes and freckles to noses. This is my favorite needle for miniature felted animals and detailing faces! The working end of this needle is especially thin and will snap if bent too far.
Tip: Start your project with your 36 triangle needle, use 38 star for the bulk of your work and finish with your thinnest gauge needles (40 twist or 42 triangle)
Questions? I'm happy to help!
Caution: Felting needles are very sharp, always use with care, and keep away from small children and pets.
Felting needles will snap if bent!
