Eastern Bluebirds
Needle Felted Eastern Bluebird
Made to your order
Stands approx. 3" tall
Each bluebird I make is crafted using a hand-carded blend of wool. I pay special attention to each bird and always reference photos of the real thing when creating them; for these reasons, no two will look identical but will be similar to the ones pictured. Wool roving is delicately wrapped and firmly needle felted into shape over a wire armature. Tiny claws and feet are wire wrapped in wool secured with pigmented beeswax. I wrap their legs and toes with wool and create tiny talons with beeswax. I use glass eyes for an authentic and shiny appearance. Each beak is hand sculpted from silk clay, painted in acrylics, and finished with a satin glaze. Realistic in size and feel.
Wool sculptures are intended for display purposes only.
